It provided two rounds of stipends and tuition fees to 2.5 million secondary students (900,000 boys and 1.6 million girls) aged 11-17 and generated timely evidence on the take-up of TV-based learning. It provided data on the constraints faced by adolescent girls and boys and undertook direct outreach to vulnerable students to encourage them to stay engaged in schooling.
